 Title: Diseases of joints and their correlation with prakruti.

          Dr. Anil E. Joshi submitted his dissertation to Pune University in 1993 for the P.G. degree M.D. (Sharir Kriya) His guide was Dr. J. K. Barde. Research center was Tilak Ayurved Mahavidyalaya, Pune.

          Dr. Joshi in his dissertation tried to show relation between the constitution & various joint diseases.

He has selected 100 adult patients suffering from joint diseases. Prakruti determination was done of all the patients. Study was carried out at O.P.D. basis & regular follow up was done upto next two months.

          Vata or Vata-pitta constitution people are found prone to joint diseases. Joint disorders were found more common in age group of 61 -70 years. Female gender was found more prone for joint problem.

Patients suffering from joint disorders were doing laborious hard work like farming, construction labour, Rickshaw drivers, wireman, porter etc.

          Patients had joint complaints more in the period of Nov. to January & June to August (cold Climate of the season mite be responsible for vata provocatition)
