 Title: Study of Blood Groups according to Prakruti.

          Dr. P.B. Gaikwad submitted his dissertation to Pune University in 2003 for the P.G. degree M.D. (Sharir Kriya). His guide was Dr. Nandini D. Dhargalkar. Research center was Tilak Ayurved Mahavidyalaya, Pune.

          Dr. Gaikwad had tried to find out relation between blood group & constitution. 500 volunteers from age group 17 to 50 years were selected. Constitution was done and their blood group was determined.

 Research work concluded as follows –

I)                  There is absolutely no relation what so ever exist between constitution & blood groups.

II)              But form the data analyzed most it can be said that kapha

constitution people have tendency to be ‘B’ positive blood groups.

III)            Pitta constitution people have tendency of ‘O’ positive blood groups.

IV)           Vata constitution people have tendency of ‘A’ positive blood groups.

V)              A large sample size is necessary for the derivation of positive conclusion.
