To investigate bio-chemically differential components of kapha doshotkata, pitta doshotkata & vata doshotkata stanya ( Breast milk)

Title:-To investigate bio-chemically differential components of kapha doshotkata, pitta doshotkata & vata doshotkata stanya ( Breast milk)

Dr. A. P. Bale submitted her dissertation to Pune University for the P.G. degree M.D. (Sharir Kriya). & Research center was Tilak Ayurved Mahavidyalaya, Pune (M.S.), India.

Dr. Bale has done research to study biochemical factors of breast milk with relation to tridosha. The study was design in three parts- i) Conceptual, ii) Clinical and iii) Experimental. 30 breast milk sample of each vata, pitta& kapha dominant were taken, Bio-chemical analysis was done regarding lactose, protein, cholesterol content. In clinical study females in post natal period were registered. Constitution of each female was determined and then attempt was made to find relationship between constitution of mother and dosha dominant of her breast milk.

          Research concluded as follows –

I)                  Breast milk of first three days shows of vata predominance, sample of 7 to 10 days kapha predominance.

II)              Vata, pitta & kapha predominance give low, intermediate highest range of lactose, proteins, cholesterol respectively.

III)            Fats are heavy and oily in nature which is similar to kapha dosha. Lactose is sweet and helps in growth of baby, which is function of kapha dosha.

IV)           With limited sample size it was seen that there is no relation between constitution of mother & dosha dominance of breast milk.

V)              The vata dominant in breast milk with least nutritional value within physiological limits. Pitta dominance breast milk is found average.
Kapha predominant breast milk is the breast milk which has bio-chemicals at upper limit of physiological range
